Well, our nest
is a little smaller now, but still not quite empty. The weekend after we
returned from Outer Banks, Zach moved to Louisville, Kentucky. He rented
a moving van, and I drove his car, and we drove there on Friday, May 20.
Louisville wasn’t picked at random—that’s where Cai and Amy live, and he got an
apartment in the same building where they live. Cai had let him know he
could probably do that, and that he could help him get a job where he works at
UPS, and Zach was ready for a different adventure in life.
Those of you who read this web version get bonus content that I forgot to put in the email! I know, you're so excited. We got there Friday night and unloaded the truck so Zach could return it. Then Saturday we helped Zach a bit with setting things up, but mostly we just spent time together. We went for a walk at a nearby park, and got Chicago style deep dish pizza.
Sunday I went to church with them, where Amy recruited me to sing in her choir, and we enjoyed worship together. Then I was supposed to fly back home that afternoon, but my flight got canceled due to bad weather. So I ended up staying an extra night, and flew out Monday morning.

So now we have
a little, perfect family of four: parents, one girl and one boy, just
like normal people. Personally, I think “normal” is overrated.
In contrast to
that, besides the 32 of us getting together earlier in May, our local family
got together for Memorial Day at Ella and Cody’s. We did our usual good food,
yard games, and lots of just enjoying each other, especially enjoying watching
the kids play together in the pool, on the swings, and just all over in the
yard. The weather was perfect here that day, and that’s always a treat.
Other than
that, I guess I don’t really have anything to report from our corner of the
world. I hope all is going well with you, and you are enjoying your
summer weather, as we are.
